  • Today was the last rehearsal before tour. We arrived and started practicing. Then, we talked about a few things about rehearsing. Next, Jeffrey Reinsch came in and presented a report on Scotland that he had done for school. It was really cute. lolz... We went into the next toom for some work on a personal coat of arms. Then, we went bck into our room to rehearse the broadway numbers. After that, we all went into the other room for lunch. During lunch, we were instructed to find about 30 pieces of papers with facts about the UK on them. The person to find the most would win a cash prize. So... Joya and  Lindsey won the money, ten dollars each. Not bad for searching for things during lunch. lolz... After that, we went back into our room and did some acting exercises with Jen. We played that one game where you pass balls around and stuff. It was fun. Then, we worked on Sleep. It was awesome. We were split up into different groups who had to come up with poses that melted into eachother that depicted certain phrases from the song. I was in a group with Mason, Nathan, and J.B. It was fun to work with them. They are so hilarious and carefree. After presenting our poses to the group silently, Jen made us all get into the poses and change poses in the song while we were singing, according to what lines we used to make the poses. It was very moving and powerful. I always love the exercises that we do together. She's really great. Anyway, Judy came and spoke to us about the meaning of competition. If I could remember all of the things she said, I'd tell you. I do remember that she said the key to competition is to remember that you can only find true joy in competing with yourself. Despite the fact that we haven't competed in the actual festival yet, all of us are winners. That's a really over-used and cliche phrase, but it's precisely true. No matter what happens in there, we were blessed with the opportunity to show the world a different side of the American Teenager, a different side of an American musician. I'm glad that I can share in this. After all of that, we rehearsed through the concert pieces some more and timed them. Then, we heard Tony and Curtis sing their solos for the tour. Emily's mom was invitied to speak with us about holding and participating in a formal tea in England since she came from there not too many years ago. So, we had tea, crumpets, haggis (yummy), mushed peas, biscuits (cookies, lol), orange squash (orange juice), cucumber/egg sandwiches, and something else that was like a pancake and it is usually served with butter and jam. It was delicious! I love food so much! tee hee hee... Anyway, we were given last minute tour instructions and packing ideas, as well as our call time for the concert on Tuesday and our garment bags. Marcia also printed us out a page of Welsh phrases so that we can start learning some of the lingo before we head over to Wales. lolz... That was thoughtful of her I thought.
